The C.N.H.M. successfully participated in the seminar where it implemented the Environmental Education Center of Archanes - Rouva - Gouves on 18 - 19 and 20 March 2016 in Archanes, Heraklion, Crete with the Theme: "TOURISM AND ENVIRONMENT: ON THE STREETS"

In the time allotted to us for our presentation, the President of the Association "Friends of the Museum" Mr. Dionysis Triantaphyllos, as well as the founder of the Museum Mr. Panagiotis Helmis analyzed and presented the interdependence of man-made and natural environment with the diptych Water - Tourism, Comparative data were submitted for the Mediterranean basin in terms of water consumption during the tourist season, and we focused our interest on the case of Zakynthos. (Comparative data of water consumption during the Winter - Summer season.) The effort made to cover the waste from the Municipality of Zakynthos - DEYAZ during the tourist season was also emphasized. Here we want to thank the President of DEYAZ for the valuable information he offered us. Finally, we came to the presentation of the efforts that the Helmis Museum has made, and will make in the future, regarding this issue. We announced to the participants and to the public of Crete the actions of our Museum. Conferences and co-events with the main theme of the themes: Tourism and Environment, Tourism and water, Alternative forms of tourism, The spiritual promotion of a place through its Museums, Mediterranean sustainable diet and local products, Walking trails, Local biodiversity, etc.

We concluded by saying that our goal is to raise awareness, promotion, acquaintance of visitors and not only, with our culture, our nature, our manners and customs, and of course : THE PROTECTION OF THE NATURAL AND HUMAN ENVIRONMENT PROTECTING US .
